For all its oddities, Florida is still one of the more popular states in the country thanks to its warm climate, sandy beaches, and seemingly infinite things to do. With more and more people flocking to the Sunshine State, we thought it was a great time to shine a spotlight on some of the state’s growing communities. Check out these Florida neighborhoods on the rise.
Beachwalk – Jacksonville
Beachwalk is a new community in the St. Johns area of Jacksonville, and it’s swiftly gaining popularity for its resort-style amenities and atmosphere. Exclusive perks for residents include members-only restaurants, watersports on the man-made Crystal Lagoon at the heart of the community, and access to a 24-hour fitness center.
A variety of floorplans populate the six neighborhoods within Beachwalk, offering numerous opportunities to find your dream home in a community that feels more like being on vacation than being home.
Hidden Hills Country Club – Jacksonville
Young families have recently begun moving into the Hidden Hills Country Club neighborhood, and it’s no secret why. The homes here are lovely and come in a variety of floorplans and styles, ensuring each one is unique. Beyond the homes themselves, great amenities like a community pool and tennis courts, as well as the active HOA always seeking to add value to the area make Hidden Hills Country Club a desirable neighborhood.
Horizon West – Orlando
Horizon West is a newer master-planned community in the greater Orlando area that has seen impressive growth in recent years thanks in large part to its ideal location. The neighborhood sits just north of Disney World and just off State Road 429, making it easy to get to Windermere, ChampionsGate, Winter Garden, and more.
The surrounding area also features just about everything you could need, including shopping centers, grocery stores, a movie theater, and so much more. For all these reasons and more, Horizon West was considered one of the fastest growing master-planned communities in the nation in 2017.
The Hammock – Palm Coast
The relaxed coastal lifestyle many think of when they imagine living in Florida can be found in The Hammock, a collection of communities along a scenic stretch of beachfront highway. Old Florida home styles combine with resort-level amenities, an abundance of great golf courses, and miles of picturesque beaches to create a neighborhood that continues to grow.
Flagler Beach isn’t a single neighborhood, but rather its own city located about halfway between St. Augustine and Daytona Beach. Before you cry foul, however, consider that this quaint surf town has experienced consistent growth over the last several years. New residents continue to discover Flagler Beach’s small-town charm, rich history, local shops and restaurants, and amazing surfing and fishing opportunities.
Grand Oaks – Gainesville
Grand Oaks is one of the newest communities featured in this blog (homes first became available for move-in last December!), but don’t let its youth fool you; the neighborhood is one of Gainesville’s most exciting growing areas. Upon completion, Grand Oaks will feature more than 300 single-family homes in a variety of styles and floorplans.
Commercial development will continue around the community, ensuring residents have easy access to any number of amenities and needs. Speaking of easy access, Grand Oaks residents can make it to Oak Hall School, the University of Florida, multiple shopping centers, and two different hospitals all in under 15 minutes.
